Now in its 24th year, the awards once again honor the best design work in a wide range of categories.
While there are many awards available for those involved in design, advertsing and digital media, LIA lays claim to being the first comprehensive award of its kind accepting all media and executions from all over the world, to be judged by a diverse international jury consisting of highly talented, recognized and awarded individuals. Twenty-two top creatives recently gathered in Las Vegas to pick the winners from 13,117 entries spanning 78 countries. Categories included Print, Billboard, Poster, Non-Traditional, Integrated, Television & Cinema, Web and Mobile, plus The NEW Category ("recognising ideas and executions without boundaries").
Winners took home Gold, Silver, Bronze or, more rarely, Grand LIA awards, with all winners and finalists, including those of earlier years, now displayed on the LIA site. Ogilvy Frankfurt took home a Gold in the Package category for its work for Rellana Wool, shown below. It's described in the following way: "In order to demonstrate the typical character of the wool at first sight, faces were printed on the labels around the balls of wool as a winter special. The packaging therefore communicated the main use of the yarn: it is perfect for scarves and hats."
Entries are currently being accepted for the 25th iteration of the awards, with more information available on the LIA site.
